Drawing on the walls

Founded in 1977, the Drawing Center is a small museum in New York that “explores the medium of drawing as primary, dynamic and relevant to contemporary culture, the future of art and creative thought.” Artists such as Gerhard Richter, Eva Hesse, Rirkrit Tiravanija and even Ferran Adria have had shows there. Currently in the Lab, is Drawing Waves, an exhibition by the South African artist Robin Rhode, which features a project where Rhodes invites 8 – 10 year olds to draw waves directly on to the gallery walls with oversize crayons.
