Walton Ford

Bosse-de-Nage 1898 - Ha Ha, 2014
Installation View, Paul Kasmin Gallery, 2014

Walton Ford is an American artist who makes riveting paintings of animals
and plants. Working in the style of Audubon, but on a much larger scale,
Ford creates surreal tableaus that critique our sticky relationship with
nature, conservation and the animal kingdom. This is visceral work, and
children will be drawn to the meticulously painted gorillas and serpents
and their monumental size. Ford takes kids (and adults) into a fantastic
other world.
